Dallas Outreach Center weekend recap - Resumen del fin de semana en Dallas
This past weekend at the IslamInSpanish Dallas Outreach Center Imam Reymundo Nour from California, taught us a Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and prayers be upon him) in which he said, “A Muslim is a mirror of another Muslim” and explained that each of us reflects one another in Islam and thus with our good actions, thoughts, and good habits we can reflect the light that Allah provided to the world through Islam.
My heart smiles because over the weekend I saw the reflection of a group of brothers and sisters (volunteers) who agreed to donate their time and resources to ensure that our Dallas Metro community has a safe and familiar place where they can come and inquire about Islam. I was happy to see for the 3rd weekend in a row non-Muslim visitors. This time it was Vivian and Irasema who shared they’ve been curious about Islam for a while.
Saturday, the volunteers enjoyed a delicious dinner to celebrate the first month of this new endeavor and reflect on what’s worked well, and find opportunities for continued growth.
Sunday once again, Imam Reymundo hosted a workshop where he lay down a simple path for success in the Dawah, the invitation to Islam. Three simple steps (for now) to keep in mind:
1. Know your faith (be a student of Islam)
2. Know the People you are inviting to Islam
3. Be a good Muslim so you can be a good reference of Islam
I feel blessed to have the opportunity to serve, get to know the rest of the group, visitors and continue to learn and grow in Islam.

El pasado fin de semana en el IslamInSpanish Dallas Outreach Center Imam Raymundo Nour de California, nos enseñó un Hadith del Profeta Mujammad (la paz sean con él) en el que dijo: "Un Musulmán es un espejo de otro Musulmán" y explicó que cada uno de nosotros refleja unos a otros en el Islam y, por lo tanto, con nuestras buenas acciones, pensamientos y buenos hábitos podemos reflejar la luz que Dios brindó al mundo a través del Islam.
Mi corazón sonríe porque durante el fin de semana vi el reflejo de un grupo de hermanos y hermanas (voluntarios) que aceptaron donar su tiempo y recursos para asegurar que nuestra comunidad de Dallas Metro tenga un lugar seguro y familiar donde puedan preguntar sobre el Islam. Me alegré de ver por 3er fin de semana consecutivo a visitantes no musulmanes. Esta vez fueron Vivian e Irasema quienes compartieron que habían sentido curiosidad por el Islam ya hace un tiempo.
El sábado, los voluntarios disfrutaron de un bonito convivio y cena para celebrar el primer mes de este nuevo enfoque y reflexionar sobre lo que ha funcionado y encontrar oportunidades de desarrollo.
El domingo también se presentó un taller en el cual el Imam Reymundo trazó un camino sencillo para el éxito en la Dawah. Tres puntos (por ahora) que hay que tener en cuenta:
1. Conocimiento sobre la religión (debemos ser estudiantes del Islam)
2. Conocimiento sobre la gente (hay que entender quién es la persona que pregunta y que los motiva)
3. Ser nosotros un buen ejemplo de como es un musulmán
Me siento bendecida por tener la oportunidad de servir, conocer al resto del grupo y visitantes. Espero continuar aprendiendo y creciendo en el Islam.
