No Centro? No Problema. IslamInSpanish LIVE Online!

May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon you. We pray you and your family are safe and healthy.

Given the recent developments with COVID-19, the Houston IslamInSpanish Centro Islamico and the Dallas Outreach Center continue to be closed and programming is canceled until further notice.

No Centro? No Problemo!

Though the doors of our centers are closed, IslamInSpanish is working hard to continue to deliver beneficial programs and services online that you can access online at the comfort and safety of your home.

Weekly classes:

Teachers will be using online resources and messaging services to continue weekly classes (Quran4Converts, Beginners Arabic, Spanish for Kids). Our weekly classes that are streamed LIVE via Facebook will continue and students are encouraged to watch and participate via the chat box (Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays). We will post short Friday reminders in Spanish and English on our online platforms in place of Jummah-Friday Sermon, however this does not count as a Friday Sermon, you will still be responsible for praying Dhuhr (4 rakat) since the Friday Sermon and congregation will be cancelled.

Monthly Social programs:

All of our social and special programs will be postponed until further notice (Tiaras, Happy Seniors, Crowns of Modesty, Convivencia Potluck, Family Nights).

Cleaning:

While center access is limited we will take this time to clean and sanitize all centers at a greater extent, especially areas with high contact, such as doorknobs, bathrooms, etc.

In conclusion, we strongly advise the community to practice social distancing guidelines recommended by the local authorities, pray at home, continue engaging in classes being taught online and look out for one another. We accept the decree of Allah, prepare for the worst and hope for the best. We ask Allah to protect you all.
