The joyous day has arrived! IslamInSpanish wishes you all a beautiful Eid -Al Fitr. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) arrived in Medina, he was told that the people there had reserved two days for festivities. These would become the two Eids, Al Fitr and Al Adha.
Today our good deeds, discipline and reflection are rewarded with joy and spiritual strength from Allah. Nobody may fast on Eid, as recognition of the past months trials and the right to celebration. Traditionally one's annual Zakat is given before the Eid prayer, and for those who have not given, now is the best time for you to make your Zakat!
Just like how Zakat made on this day is met with an abundance of blessings from Allah, the celebrations are an abundance of love. We share food and following the Eid prayer we hug in celebration. The legacy of Eid and Zakat are indeed powerful, with a purpose of Zakat to bring together hearts and minds, and build communities. To make our contribution and do justice to the legacy of Spanish-speaking Muslims, we are raising funds to construct a state-of-the-art Islamic Center in Houston. This will include a Masjid and museum. Your Zakat will empower us to share our joy, faith and culture with all our brothers and sisters for many more Eid’s to come, Inshallah!
